Many people think steel pushrods are noisy. In our testing we found they are as quiet as stock pushrods at normal operating temperatures. When the engine was run beyond the recommended normal temperature, steel pushrods were distinctly noisier. Aluminum pushrods will continue to expand and maintain valve clearance better at temperatures above normal and will not warn you of an overheating condition that is damaging your engine. So, if you have steel pushrods and you get a lot of noise after the engine is fully warmed up, it may mean you have above normal head temperature and could be damaging your engine due to overheating. I prefer to be warned, how about you? |
