I recommend that you trial assemble the engine, use an adjustable pushrod and measure the overall length. To make an adjustable pushrod from a stock VW pushrod, cut out about 1-1/2" of material about 3/8" to 1/2" from one end, tap 1/4-20. Use a 2-1/2" long piece of threaded 1/4-20 rod and a couple of nuts. If you are not able to make an adjustable pushrod yourself we offer one already made. Set the rocker arm up on the adjustment position without the pushrod tube in place so you can adjust the length of the "TEST" pushrod to determine the length you need to order. When properly set up lock the jam nuts down and remove the rockers and the test pushrod. Measure the tip to tip length and that is the size you need. Never rotate the engine with an adjustable pushrod to determine amount of lift or geometry. |
