I am often asked, "What is the best gearing for my car?" Be clear that there are hundreds of possible combinations. First, I recommend purchasing, reading and using the information in our GB 801-GEARING article. All gearing is a mathematical function based on the engine's HP and potential RPM range, tire size and car weight. Anything not contained in the article is information "YOU" must provide for the formulas in order to determine what you will use.
This is the only way to determine what your combination might require. Furthermore, this requires some experience to compare from (because of car weight not being in the formula) in order to determine what the changes will do. Because you are the only person with all of that information, this must all be done first to provide both of us with the answers. This way we can provide you with what does the job you want done the first time around. Naturally, it is best if you at least get close to what you think works so we can properly assist you with your order. If not, it will take longer to determine what will do the job for you and we will be happy to discuss your choices at the time we take your order.
Additional ways of calculating ratios can be done with GB 788 dream wheel and/or GB 802 computer ratios disk.
