All stronger springs require stronger steel pushrods. With a mild cam and single springs you may get away with the stock or a HD aluminum pushrod for some time, however you will eventually have a failure. Aluminum simply will not withstand the additional load day after day. I have seen aluminum pushrods that have shattered like a broken bone and many that the tips have been driven in as much as 0.100". The aluminum simply rolls out from under the steel tip. It's not likely to fail in your driveway, but in some inconvenient location, far from help. |
